Estimator – Residential Development – Surrey

As part of their continued growth our client is currently recruiting for an Estimator to join their Surrey office.

Person specification:
The successful applicant will be an Estimator with proven experience within a Developer. You will act as Estimator for nominated developments and will be responsible for all commercial and contractual aspects of the project from inception to completion. This includes providing viabilities for the land department and working with the team to assist land bids.

You must have have experience of appraisals and material buying and be capable of critiquing/value engineering, civil and structural engineering solutions.

You will be qualified to HND or degree level.

Role & Responsibilities:
The role is varied and deadline driven, so excellent prioritisation and organisation skills are essential. You should be self-motivated and pro-active with the ability to meet strict deadlines. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and are a competent user of MS Office products and databases. Knowledge of SAGE/Site Stream is beneficial.

• Preparation of budgets for the Construction and Sales & Marketing teams
• Appointment of sub-contractors & suppliers
• Carrying out viabilities for land bids
• Attending internal land bid meetings
• To provide detailed monthly costs reports and attend monthly cost review meetings
• Monitor construction, sales & marketing and land budgets
• Ownership of timely reporting and accountable for the cost management for all development costs and liaising with all members of the Development team
• To monitor site performance against original plans, budgets and financial targets
• To provide cost reports and key date updates to deadline
• Communicate regularly with other disciplines; sales, land, construction and architects, as necessary
• Monitor prelim budgets
• Take full responsibility for the tender process
• Tender analysis and order placements
