Our client is an international real estate investment company with developments across the globe. The UK office has built a strong reputation for its work in the luxury property market and currently manages a number of prestigious projects in London across the residential, mixed use, hospitality and commercial sectors.

As part of the next planned stage of growth and development, a fantastic new opportunity is soon to open for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their London office.

With growth planned throughout the next 5 years, this senior role offers excellent opportunities for progression in both the short and long term.

The successful applicant will be the lead on all costs relating to some of London’s largest and most prestigious super-prime developments, amongst other projects. You will be internal lead for our client, liaising with all external cost consultancies.

Person Specification:

  • The successful applicant will be a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, MRICS.
  • Educated to Degree or HNC level in Quantity Surveying or a construction related subject.
  • You will have full MRICS Membership and a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in large scale projects in the UK.
  • You will have a stable and solid career background from within a consultancy or Developer background.
  • You will have experience working with high end materials, products and suppliers, ideally in the residential or hospitality sector, with good knowledge of suppliers, prices, industry standards etc.
  • You will have experience working with a number of other consultants as you will be internal lead for our client, liaising with all external cost consultancies.

Roles & Responsibilities:

You will manage the cost and risk positions of designated projects with regard to overall package procurement and estimated final account.You will ensure that our client is able to place construction management packages from an informed cost and risk position and disseminate this live market data back in to othe projects within our clients portfolio.

  • To monitor the project construction contingency against the overall project risk profile.
  • To monitor the tender event schedule, using this to define the package producrement strategies on the project and assist with any changes to commercial strategies.
  • To carry out reviews on valuations, value engineering studies and attend selection of trade-contractors.
  • To evaluate supply chains across our clients portfolio, developing synergies and market knowledge to assist in future cost planning and procurement.
  • To manage external project cost consultants and manage the preperation of project related financial reports showing projected forecast costs on a monthly basis.
  • To assist with the timely notice of payments against sub-contractors applications for payment.
  • To undertake feasibility studies and identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • To prepare and analyse tender documents, including bills of quantities; assist where necessary in the timely submission of all contractual notices relating to money, delays and /or disruption.
  • To provide contractual advise and ensure that all instructions and variations are properly issued to the supply chain.
  • To assist where necessary in the timely production of financial claims and extensions of time.
  • To review, interrogate and respond to project cost reports and to assist in the preperation and updating of development cost reports.
  • To undertake other such duties as appropriate to the level and nature of the role.

Salary & Package:

Salary for this role will be £60,000 – £75,000 dependent on experience.
